We are excited to offer the latest generation of CO2 laser technology to our practice! Introducing the AcuPulse Fractional CO2 Laser
Say goodbye to
• Acne Scars
• Scars
• Wrinkles
• Facial lines
• Sun damage
• Stretch marks
• Uneven texture
• Warts
What is it?
AcuPulse TM Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing involves treating a fraction of a given skin surface area, instead of the entire area. By delivering focused microscopic columns of ablative energy, there are intact areas of skin left behind which help the skin heal faster than traditional resurfacing. AcuPulse’s TM technology enables the deepest penetration with the lowest energy. AcuPulse is a safe, simple and cost-effective CO2 laser treatment that delivers outstanding results. It successfully corrects many dermatological and cosmetic skin conditions with fewer side effects. This two fractional resurfacing system (DeepFX and ActiveFX) can offer you dramatic results on a range of skin aging concerns, from deep wrinkles to fine lines and uneven skin tone and texture. This laser can affect different layers of your skin, depending on your specific concern. The great thing about Acupulse is it can also be used to treat stretch marks, birth marks, smoker lines, and a variety of other skin problems/concerns.
How it works?
From Lumenis, this laser creates microscopic channels that trigger the process of new collagen and elastic fibers production, while leaving some unaffected skin in between the channels to reduce healing time. The result is deep dermal regeneration that dramatically improves your skin elasticity and appearance.
The concept of fractional technology was introduced in 2004. Basically, this technology allows for a fraction of the skin to be treated while the intervening areas are not ablated. These intact bridges of skin between the treated zones allows for rapid healing.
When will I see results?
The main advantage of Acupulse is that results are visible after one single treatment! As your skin heals following the treatment, you will begin to notice an improvement in wrinkles, fine lines, tone and texture. You should expect to continue to see improvement for up to two years following the treatment.
What to expect after treatment?
Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm and may be slightly red and swollen, depending on your customized treatment settings. Most patients are able to resume their daily activies within a week. Downtime ranges from 37 days, depending on the depth of resurfacing performed and the goals of the procedure. Mild pink discoloration may last another one week, which is significantly less than fully ablative procedures.
To minimize discomfort during deeper treatments, lidocaine (numbing cream) will be applied to your skin.
Why Acupulse?
This laser can improve deep wrinkles, fine lines, tone and texture in just one single treatment. You will see dramatic tightening and rejuvenation without surgery. And you experience less downtime compared to similar treatments. Traditional CO2 laser carried lengthy down times of up to 6 weeks. Some patients would have erythema (redness) present for up to 6 months. With Acupulse, the down time is anywhere from 3 days to 6 days depending on the energy level utilized. This quick healing provides a much greater level of convenience for the typical patient.
This exciting new technology means that you will achieve superficial and deep wrinkle improvement, blending of acne scars, and treatment of sun damage with minimal down time or discomfort!
